Book Club Thursday: October Reading Challenge

Hi Readers! This week is our BCT Reading Challenge for October. I have selected for my pick: Read a Book with a One Word Title. The title I picked is SCRAPE by Erin Kellison. It is book #8 and the finale of the Reveler  paranormal series. Stop on by to see what my fellow bloggers have picked for this month, too!

Between the Covers:

The last battle will be a nightmare…

The Sandman has broken through to the waking world, bringing with Him a monster of a storm. Mirren Lambert and Vince Blackman set out to force him back into his own realm, while Malcolm Rook and Jordan Lane are cornered by an old enemy intent on revenge. They learn that there are no rules when fighting for the ones you love.

In the midst of the chaos, Harlen Fawkes is charged with finding a way to make dreaming safe again. As nightmares lurk in the fringes, waiting to attack, he is driven to a bold decision that will change the world Darkside forever. All the while, his heart is with Sera—will the love of his life ever wake again?

Steve Coll must come to grips with his altered nature. His passion for Maisie Lane transcends the darkness, and he becomes both a fearsome nightmare and the hero humanity so desperately needs. Armed with hope and love, he strikes out to defeat a powerful god. But will it be enough? Or has dreaming just become too dangerous?

Scrape is the eighth and final installment in the Reveler serial, a hot paranormal romance set in a world where shared dreaming is a new pop culture phenomenon that allows people to indulge their wildest fantasies. But there are also unknown dangers Darkside; nightmares are slowly infiltrating not only dreams, but the waking world as well. And behind them all is a shadowy entity called the Sandman.

Revel with me.

Erin Kellison skillfully writes a wonderfully unique paranormal romance series in novella form. I loved the idea of mutual shared dreaming for recreation. What started out as fun for the young adult crowd was soon corrupted by men seeking power and control as well as well as monsters from your worst nightmares.
The story is fast paced as the good guys are trying to prevent the nightmares like The Sandman from breaking through to the waking world. I loved reading about all the lead characters and how some of them changed and became stronger people, even when they were weary and seemed to be losing the battle. The finale is a real nail biter. I can't wait to see what Ms Kellison has next in mind for her next series!

I hope you liked my pick this week. Stop by next week, October 15th, when we will be giving away an E-copy of the story Ann selected. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Sounds like to enjoyed it. And dream themed paranormal books interest me quite a bit.

    1. There is something about the dream realm that appeals to me, too.
