Hi Readers! It's time for Book Club Thursday. This week we are going to "Catch Up With" one of our favorite authors that we have somehow fallen a little (or a lot) behind on, Jill Shalvis. Summer is speeding by and the kids are starting to return to school. It has been a hot summer, but I picked one of Jill's cooler titles, MY KIND OF WONDERFUL. The hero just happens to work for the family ski resort and meets the woman who will rock his world. I hope you enjoy the reviews that my fellow BCT bloggers and I write for this wonderfully witty author.

Bailey Moore has an agenda: skiing in the Rockies, exploring castles in Europe, ballroom dancing in Argentina. Now that she has a second lease on life, she's determined not to miss a thing. What she doesn't realize is that item #1 comes with a six-foot-one ski god hot enough to melt a polar ice cap. She doesn't want to miss out on him either, but Hudson Kincaid isn't the type of guy to love and let go. And as gorgeous as Cedar Ridge is, she's not planning to stick around.
As head of ski patrol at his family's resort, Hud thinks he's seen it all. But never has he run into someone like Bailey. She might look delicate, but her attitude is all firecracker. And her infectious joy touches something deep within him that he's been missing far too long. Now he'll just have to convince Bailey to take a chance on her biggest adventure yet . . . something rare and all kinds of wonderful.
You can't go wrong with a Jill Shalvis story! If you need a story that delivers a lot of laughs in your romance fix, she delivers. This another WOW feel good story with great characters and a lot of heart.
You can't help but feel for Bailey, a firecracker of a heroine. After a decade of battling a serious illness, she is ready to finally experience her life by living life to the fullest, complete with a to do list. She meets Hudson Kincaid at the top of the skiing run for experienced skiers which she got to by accident because her map was upside down. From then on, Hud is hooked. He is the busiest of the Kincaids, the head of the ski patrol as well as a cop. He also helps to take care of his mother who has early onset dementia. But this story is not a downer though it touches some serious things.
This story celebrates life. It is about a couple who are attracted to each other even though neither wants a relationship right now. Bailey brings joy to life and Hud respects her enough to know that she doesn't want to be coddled and hovered over. The story celebrates family with life's good and bad moments. The Kincaid's are a crazy bunch of people that love each other and drive each other nuts. The banter between the brothers is hilarious and the women are not slouches either. Bailey starts to fit in with the family pretty quickly when she is hired to paint a mural for the Cedar Ridge resort. Hud is a hard working and loyal guy who gets a taste of life with someone he could care about forever if he doesn't blow it with the Kincaid foot in mouth syndrome. Their romance is a roller coaster ride filled with laughs and heart-touching moments written with Jill Shalvis classic style.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope that you join us next week, August 25th, when we will be doing our next Reading Challenge. Until then, Happy Reading!
