ONE-EYED DUKES ARE WILD
Dukes Behaving Badly #3
Releasing December 29th, 2015
Another fun and sexy romance in Megan’s Dukes Behaving Badly series!
When does proper behavior deserve a deliciously improper reward?
The scandalously unmarried Lady Margaret Sawford is looking for adventure-and is always up for a challenge. Her curiosity is aroused by a dangerous-looking stranger with an eye patch, an ideal companion for the life she longs for, no matter what Society might say. So when the piratical gentleman turns out to be a duke-and just as boringly proper as any other nobleman-she can’t help but incite him to walk on the wild side.
Well-heeled, well-mannered, and well beyond any interest in society’s expectations, the Duke of Lasham is tired of being perfect. Margaret’s lush beauty and gently laughing eyes are an irresistible temptation to embrace the imperfect-and her. But if a little misbehavior is appealing, unleashing his wild side is completely seductive-as long as the lovely Margaret is the object of his passion…
I've been hearing a lot about Megan Frampton's books, so I thought it was time I tried one. I am glad that I did. I love historical romances that have lots of humor and strong characters. Lady Margaret was ahead of her time. Rather than marry a man she couldn't abide, she chose to stay single which horrified her wealthy aristocratic parents. So being the loving parents they are, they disown her and let her fend for herself. Just love those hypocritical members of the ton. Not!
Margaret had a lot going for her, she's beautiful, has a talent for cards and the ability to use her brain. Playing cards helped her survive as well as her having a talent for writing a romance serial. She also had a big heart and went into bad parts of town and rescued women in trouble. Soon she meets and becomes friends with the Duke of Lasham.
The Duke is at a crossroads in his life. He is wealthy and women want to know him...for his money and title. He is an unusual hero. He is scared and has lost an eye in an odd accident. He is very staid and always does what is expected of him. Meeting Lady Margaret helps him open up and actually enjoy his life while accompanying her on her adventures. Sometimes she is a bit reckless and Lasham is fascinated by the lengths Margaret goes to to help abused women in need. She is her own white knight.
This sexy story sparkles with romance, wit and humor. I loved the role reversal in watching the lonely hero Lasham flourish in Margaret's company. You also get to read Margaret's writing of "Georgiana and the Dragon", a sweet story that mirrors part of her life. I am glad to have had a chance to read this addition to Ms Frampton's Dukes Behaving Badly and I look forward to reading more in this refreshingly different romance series.
