Hi Readers! Welcome back to this weeks edition of Book Club Thursday. When my fellow BCT members and I made up our schedule this year, we decided that we would be adding more authors, more reviews, and more features like CATCHING UP ON on some of favorite authors that we have somehow fallen behind on. This month, we are featuring author Heather Graham. I hope you enjoy!
Krewe of Hunters Novella
Available as an E-book
Published February, 2014 by Evil Eye Concepts, Inc.
It's a happy time for Sloan Trent and Jane Everett. What could be happier than the event of their wedding? Their Krewe friends will all be there, and the event will take place in a medieval castle transported brick by brick to the New England coast. Everyone is festive and thrilled . . . until the priest turns up dead just hours before the nuptials.
Jane and Sloan must find the truth behind the man and the murder—the secrets of the living and the dead—before they find themselves bound for eternity—not in wedded bliss but in the darkness of an historical wrong and their own brutal deaths.
My Thoughts in Review
Heather Graham is a long time favorite prolific author who has been writing wonderful romantic suspense stories for many years. I fell behind on the series a couple of years ago. CRIMSON TWILIGHT is a part of her Krewe of Hunters series, a fun and exciting series with paranormal elements as well as suspense.
This novella is about the wedding of Jane Everett and Sloan Trent who you meet in THE NIGHT IS WATCHING back in 2013. The couple are about to be married at an old Welsh castle which was brought to the US by a wealthy man over a century ago. Instead of the intimate wedding in a beautiful castle before a few special friends, Jane and Sloan end up investigating the death of the minister who was to perform the ceremony the next day.
Rumor has it that the castle is haunted by two ghosts who died before their own wedding. And recently, another bride died by falling down the same stairs that the minister met his end.
This is a an enjoyable story with a murder to solve as well as a bittersweet ghost story. Jane and Sloan are still much in love and I loved how Sloan's thoughts about his fiance were so touching and romantic. The story is fast paced and leaves you guessing who the culprit is. It's a nice way to spend a cozy evening catching up with a story written by a favorite author.
I hope you enjoyed our CATCHING UP On author this week, Heather Graham. Join me and visit my fellow bloggers and see which Graham book they chose. Thanks for stopping by and visit us again next week when we at Book Club Thursday will be choosing our first READING CHALLENGE of 2016.
