Book Club Thursday Review: BURNED BY Darkness by Alexandra Ivy

Hi Readers! Halloween is almost here so my fellow BCT Bloggers felt like a little paranormal would be right for the end of this October. We chose to review BURNED BY DARKNESS, a novella by Alexandra Ivy and Book #1 of the Dragons Of Eternity series.

The Dragons of Eternity were once creatures of myth and legend. Now they’ve returned to the world, prepared to claim what’s rightfully theirs…

Tayla is desperate for a place to call home. After years on the run, the young imp impulsively buys a teahouse and is determined to build a new life. Unfortunately, she’s barely opened the doors when she’s tracked down by the dragon who purchased her from troll slave-traders. He demands she pay off her debts…in his harem.

Baine has devoted a quarter of a century to tracking down his beautiful concubine. And now that he has her in his grasp, he’s not about to let her go. But it’s soon apparent that he isn’t the only demon hunting her. He must uncover her secrets or risk losing her forever.

My Review:

Fans of the Guardians of Eternity will be glad to start this fast paced new spin-off featuring the sexy dragon named Baine. Its fun, sexy, filled with magic, and our old buddy Levet makes an appearance.
I really felt for the imp Tayla. She was on the run from the dragons for almost twenty five years. All she wants is her own home and a business so that she doesn't need to rely on anyone but herself. But now Baine has found her, and others are looking for her.
Baine is sexy, strong, and powerful dragon. He is also bull-headed, spoiled and a bit old-fashioned. He finds Tayla fascinating and wants her for his harem. He definitely hasn't a clue in how to woo a modern female. I loved the two butting heads as he wants to protect her and she wants to live her own life. She also has to deal with danger and betrayal. Together they found out why others were after her.
I'm looking forward to more in this series. I love this paranormal world and hope Baine's friend, a half-dragon named Char gets a story. I loved having Levet around as he mangled the English language and hope other characters from the previous series will stop by also.

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to stop by and read what my fellow bloggers thought of BURNED BY DARKNESS. See you next week!
