Book Club Thursday for July 2nd: Sultry Nights

Hi Readers. Thanks for stopping by to  visit us at Book Club Thursday. This week our theme is SULTRY NIGHTS. What  sexy images of romance does your mind conjure up for a steamy summer night? Making love on a deserted beach under the moonlight? Or maybe meeting a masked stranger in a courtyard in New Orleans. This week, my fellow bloggers at BCT share our thoughts and some sexy favorites featuring some sultry nights.

THE FLING by Elda Minger

When Patti finds herself stranded at the altar, she and her cousin Kate decide not to let a perfectly good honeymoon vacation go to waste.

They head for Hawaii ready for anything-even Cherry Jubilee. Cherry's looking for a good fling, and she's more than happy to bring Patti and Kate along for the ride.

Now these girls have turned the tables on men-and the games have begun. But one of them might just find the one thing they least expected-a man worth keeping.

What could be more sexy than finding love in Hawaii? Although this is a comedy, it always brings back a smile.

BINDING HER HEART by Nikita Black
From the Anthology WEDDING FAVORS
This book is Adult Content for ages 21+

Sultry days, sinful nights and a magic fountain… What
more could a nice-turned-naughty bridesmaid wish for…?

For Tessa Kittredge, standing up at her good friend’s New Orleans society wedding is the last thing she wants to do. Love? She long ago stopped believing in that myth. But a very special bachelorette party, a golden mask, and a carelessly tossed coin all bespell Tessa into fulfilling her deepest fantasies… with a dark and powerfully sensual stranger.

Treves “Shay” Ducheyne is a Louisiana aristocrat with a problem. None of the prissy women in his social circle like the kind of sex he enjoys most—edgy, gritty and controlling. But when he secretly watches a beautiful innocent cast a coin into the cursed Jaillissement de Plaisir fountain, his predatory instincts awaken. She has no idea she’s playing with fire—New Orleans style.

But as easily as Shay commands Tessa’s body, it is a far more difficult task to win her trust…and her heart. It will take all his considerable prowess…and a much stronger force than rope…to tie her to him forever…

The bond of love.

What is it about New Orleans and masks that fuels sinful fantasies?

AFTER THE NIGHT by Linda Howard

FAITH DEVLIN: A poor, outcast child in Prescott, Louisiana, she'd always adored the town's golden boy from afar. But he called her white trash that sultry Southern night when his rich, respected father disappeared, along with her pretty Mom. Now Faith wanted to hate Gray Rouillard...not to feel a powerful surge of desire. But she couldn't quench her passion, any more than she could hide the truth about the past she had waited so long to unravel.
GRAY ROUILLARD: Even when he raised hell, he did it with style. Reckless, charming, and backed by Rouillard money, Gray controlled the town of Prescott -- and Devlin was a name he never wanted to hear again. But when he gazed at Faith Devlin, all he saw was a swirl of tangled sheets and her silken flesh beneath him. To care for her was impossible, unthinkable...because Gray Rouillard planned to use all his power to ruin her.

A Classic Blast From The Past. This was one of Linda Howard's best. But then there is this sexy scene in another of her romantic suspense classics, KILL AND TELL...

Still reeling from her mother's recent death, Karen Whitlaw is stunned when she receives a package containing a mysterious notebook from the father she has barely seen since his return from the Viet Nam War over twenty years ago. Unwilling to deal with her overwhelming emotions, Karen packs the notebook away, putting it - and her father - out of her mind, until she receives a shocking phone call. Her father has been murdered on the gritty streets of New Orleans.

Homicide detective Marc Chastain considers the murder nothing more than street violence against a homeless man, and Karen accepts his judgment - at first. But she changes her mind when her home is burglarized and "accidents" begin to happen. All at once, she faces a chilling realization: whoever killed her father is now after her. Desperate for answers, Karen retrieves the only thing that links her to her father - the notebook he had sent months before. Inside its worn pages, she makes an unsettling discovery: her father had been a sniper in Vietnam and the notebook contains a detailed account of each one of his kills.

Now running for her life, Karen entrusts the book and its secrets to Marc Chastain. Together they unravel a disturbing story of politics, power, and murder - and face a killer who will stop at nothing to get his hands on the kill book....

I hope you enjoyed our theme this week. Let us know some of your Sultry favorites.
