THE ONLY THING BETTER THAN A SURPRISE FLING…

Sugar Creek, Vermont, is a world away from Los Angeles for high-powered, media-obsessed Harper Day. When she took the job doing publicity for the Cupcake Lovers, she never expected to be won over by the town’s old-fashioned charms. But that was before she moved into the Victorian vacation home of her dreams and fell in with a man whose good looks and irresistible ways are anything but small-town…

IS FINDING TRUE AND LASTING LOVE.

Sam McCloud is a widowed father of two. He and bossy, big-city Harper appear to have nothing in common… though the attraction they feel toward one another cannot be denied. But will their romance last longer than the day’s headlines? There’s more to Harper than meets the eye, and as it turns out, she needs to get married—fast. Little does Harper know that family-man Sam will do whatever it takes to keep her in Sugar Creek—even if that means taking matters into his own hands. And never letting her go…in the fourth novel in the Cupcake Lovers series, In the Mood For Love.

My Review:

If you are a fan of contemporary romance, you have to give Beth Ciotta's Cupcake Lovers novels a try. They are a great blend of family, friends, humor and romance all rolled up into one in this wonderful series. This is book #4 and called In The Mood For Love.
I have waited for Sam's story. The only male member of the Cupcake Lovers club, he is an ex-soldier, a widower, and a great dad and cupcake baker. He is also lonely, and watched as a woman he had a romantic interest in, fell in love with his cousin in the previous book, Anything But Love. So what does he do? He has a secret short hot and sexy affair with the Cupcake Lovers publicist, Harper whose job is located in L. A.

Harper is a workaholic publicist who gives her clients 200%. Unfortunately, she had a terrible experience in her native Canada and she asked to be transferred to her firms L A office.  3 years later she is let go by the firm. She can not go home so she needs a green card to stay in the U.S. Enter Sam to the rescue, with an offer of a marriage of convenience.

Harper is an independent city girl and Sam is a small town dad. They agree to a friendly marriage, but they can't seem to be able to keep their hands off each other. Sam sees qualities in Harper that even she herself can't see. His kids come to adore her, his family notices their sparks, and their friendship starts to grow into something more. It comes to Sam's attention that Harper may have a stalker problem, and while he checks into what is going on to protect her, he hopes that Harper will be able to trust in him and realize that they could have something special together.

I found myself laughing at so many things in the story and you get to see what Sam's friends and family are up too, especially Daisy. One of my favorites parts in the book is a touching scene with Sam and his father-in-law that speaks well on Sam's character as a man. And it also reflects well the writing style of Ms Ciotta that she doesn't diminish Sam's previous love with his late wife Paula like some other authors seems to do. He had a happy marriage with Paula and she will always have a place in his heart even though he is now moving on with Harper. This story really had some special and tender moments.

I highly recommend this book. It is full of fun, family, and romance. I can't wait to read Beth's future books and I hope you enjoy In The Mood For Love , too!
