Book Club Thursday-Through the Wall by Keri Ford

Through The Wall

An Apple Trail Novella, 1

By Keri Ford

My Review:

This is a short, sexy adult novella. Stephanie, is still smarting from the end of her marriage and still remains friendly with her husband's best friend Parker who lives in the apartment next door. Their bedroom walls are against each other and Stephanie can hear whenever Parker has a date overnite. Many, many times.
Feeling lonely, she decides she wants to add some spice to her lack of love life by asking Parker to have sex with her. She does not know that Parker wants a serious relationship with her and was waiting to give her some time to heal from her divorce. He doesn't want to be her rebound guy.
I like the people in the story. On the day they met, her ex saw her first when she walked in the door, but Parker fell for her too and watched her marry his friend. He later tells Stephanie he has never leaves his back to a door since.
The story is good when you just want something short to read. I am not a big fan of "if you can't be with the one you love, love the one your with" storyline. That's just my preference. But this is just a novella, so I try not to over-analyze, because I did like Parker.

(Originally published Dec. 2010. Reissued May 2013 with minor edits applied)

She doesn’t want wild and raunchy, just a little spice…

He wants commitment and long-term, not a quick roll…

Two best friends who both want each other, but for very different reasons.

The walls are thin in the Apple Trail Apartments. Ever since she moved in after her divorce, Stephanie has listened to her best friend next door getting busy. By the bed knocking on the wall and the gasping women, Stephanie wants to be one of those women on the other side. She just has to get the courage up to ask.

The only woman Parker Madison ever wanted long-term was the very-married Stephanie. He’s tried finding a substitute, but there just isn’t another woman like her. Now that she's available, he just has to keep his hands to himself for a respectable length of time after her divorce. He’s planning to make a move after eight months. Stephanie takes him by surprise after three. Does he fulfill her request and risk becoming that best friend rebound guy or wait it out to better his chances for happily ever after?
